Hi guys, how are you all doing? Today I will be preparing chicken teriyaki. I did quite a bit of research before cooing this meal. I love chicken teriyaki. It’s such a delicious and aromatic dish. Once you try it, you get to appreciate its authentic taste.
I tried my first teriyaki from wasabi, and ever since then, it’s the only dish I order when I go there for lunch.
I discovered that there are two main ingredients that needs to be included in this dish, that is Sake and Mirin, or else it will affect the taste. But however if you ant find those two ingredients, just use rice wine vinegar or malt vinegar it still works 😉
Here are the INGREDIENTS:
- Chicken breast of thigh fillets
- 1 whole Red pepper
- 1 whole Green pepper
- 1 whole yellow pepper
- 1/8 of Rice vinegar or malt vinegar
- 1/8 of Mirin
- 1/8 of sake
- 1/2 a cup of Dark soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of Brown sugar (adjust to taste
- 1 medium sized Onions
- Thumb sized Ginger
- 3 cloves of Garlic
- Sesame seeds (optional)
- 1 cup of Water. + 3 tablespoons
- 2 tablespoons of Corn starch
- Wooden spoon
Lets Begin shall we 🙂
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 35 minutes
Put wok, on the burner, add the soy sauce and rice vinegar to it. Then add the sugar and then add the grated garlic and ginger. Stir and bring to the boil.
Then finally, Mix the water with corn starch, and add it to the sauce.
(Never add the dry cornstarch into the sauce. it will cause the sauce to have lumps). This will help in thickening the sauce.
Turn off the heat.
It’s ready to serve.
Use a mould to serve your rice, this will help and make the dish more attractive. Add your teriyaki sauce by the side and sprinkle some sesame seeds on it.
It’s ready to eat.
You can eat the meal with a fork, or if you are adventurous and brave enough use a chop stick.😉
That’s it from me.
