Hi guys, how are you all doing. I am starting off another edition which will focus on Christmas treats and menus. I am really excited to bring you all this amazing edition.
We all know French toast is really an indulgence and trust me, it’s good. However because of the calories in it, I always shy away from it. But now I don’t😊 that’s because I now have an alternative to the rich indulgence.
4 slices of wheat bread
Skillet or frying pan
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Total time: 25 minutes
First wash your hands thoroughly and wipe it dry.
Break the eggs into a bowl and separate the yolks from the white. Put the yolks in another bowl, as this recipe only requires the egg whites.
Add half a cup of skimmed or semi skimmed milk to the egg whites, and also add vanilla and cinnamon. Whisk until all ingredients are incorporated.
Next dip the sliced bread in the egg mixture, press down firmly for about 3 seconds ( this will allow the bread soak up the mixture) turn it and dip the other side. Do this with the rest if the sliced bread.
Heat up the frying pan or skillet, spray it with cooking spray and place at least two of the sliced break on it and fry on each side for about 5 minutes until it’s cooked and nicely brown. Continue with the rest of the sliced bread and repeat the same steps.
Once you are done with all the sliced bread, turn of the heat and keep it warm.
Serve with an assortment of fruits and drizzle it with honey. Or just dust stevia sugar over it and serve with lovely berries.
