Okro Soup

Hi guys. How are you all doing? I am back again with another recipe that I would like to share with you all.

Okro can be used in a variety of ways. You can eat it with stew, ogbono or add it to vegetables(spinach etc)

Today I have decided not to use any of these methods, but create another method. I promise you it will be a wonderful mouthful experience.

Lets begin shall we πŸ™‚

INGREDIENTS :
Okro

  • 1 large Onions
  • Assorted meats
  • Crayfish
  • Shrimps
  • Beef
  • Shaki
  • Pomo
  • Dry fish or stock fish
  • 3 Habenero peppers (rodo)

UTENSILS :
2 Medium sized pots
Wooden spoon
Grater

Wash the Okro, grate and set aside.

Next wash all the meat, add it to the pot, Slice some onions, add knorr cube and a little salt and cook until soft. ( usually about 1 hour: 45 minutes)

Next drain the stock from the meat. (This should be about 1/2 a litre. If it’s more than 1/2 a litre that’s fine. Just make sure you add more pepper, 5 at most.

In another pot, add the blended pepper, cook until the pepper is no longer raw 15 minutes

Next add the beef stock and cook for 5 minutes.

Add the dry fish, shrimps and beef. Stir and let it cook for 10 minutes.

Finally add the cray fish and okro, check the taste and season with knorr cube as desired.

Do not cover the pot at this time, as it will stop the okro from drawing.

Cook for 7 minutes and its ready.

Woohoo.πŸ‘

Welll done.

Serve with Any solid of your choice. In my next post I will be introducing you to plantain fufu. You will love it. πŸ˜‰

That’s it from Me
