Hi guys, how are you all doing?
Todays recipe’s is yum yum yum yum! Don’t mind me, I am just overly excited. 🙂
Chocolate and bananna! These are a few of my favourite things. Hehehe (I went all *sound of music* there.
These two combinations are exceptional. Provided you get the consistency right. So for those who have a sweet tooth, but still want to manage all that sweetness moderately.
For those who want an excuse to have chocolate cake for breakfast. This is your best chance. 🙂
For those that want to eat banana another way, here it is. 🙂
Can you all see I have you all covered. 😉
Ok, lets begin shall we.
- 1/2 cup of butter (I used homemade Recipe)
- 2cups of plain flour
- 2/3 cups of cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 a teaspoon of baking soda
- 3 very ripe medium sized banana
- 1/3 cup of chocolate chips
- 1 cup of buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup of brown sugar
- 2 mixing bowls
- Hand mixer
- Rubber spatula
- 12 inch baking loaf
Prep time : 15 minutes
Baking time: 55 minutes
Total time: 1 hour :10 minutes
Pre heat the oven by 180 degrees
In another bowl, Add the butter and brown sugar into a mixing bowl. Cream/beat the mixture until light. Use a mixer for this
After creaming. As you can see here it is light in colour
Next break the eggs and add it one by one into the butter and sugar mixture.
Next mash the banana in a small bowl, you will need this for the next step.
To the butter mixture, add the mashed banana, vanilla extract and chocolate chips. Mix on very low speed. (This is because you don’t want to incorporate too much air into the mixture before adding flour)
Now detach the mixer, and then continue with a rubber spatula.
This next steps will need to be done in three stages.
Add half of the flour mixture and mix with the spatula. Mix gently as too much air will make the cake too dry and we don’t want that! 🙂
Next add the butter milk
Once that’s done, pour the contents of the bowl into the baking pan and pop it in the oven for 50-55 minutes.
Once it’s 50 minutes, you can insert a toothpick or small knife to check on the cake, it t comes out clean, then it’s ready, if not leave it for another 5 minutes.
That’s it, it’s ready
Serve with a nice glass of cold milk 😊😊😊
That’s it from me today
