Hi guys. How are you all doing? Its getting hotter and hotter….. so that means its time to bring you all cool and refreshing drinks to cool you off 🙂
So this drink has always been a favorite of mine. I remember at parties one of my aunties Mummy Morin (thats what I call her) used to organise all the small chops and drinks. Aside the main dish. She has a way of incorporating fun into parties. As in people will want to sit at her table. Mostly because with her there is never a dull moment and also for the free flowing small chops and party drinks.
I remember then she wouldn’t allow us taste tye Chapman because of the bitters put into it. She said it wasn’t for children. I would sulk ehn..loool. so she promised to make another one for kids. Buy before that I managed a couple of sips from one of her friends who wasn’t looking when I inserted my own straw. Lol. I wasnt a bad child. My curiosity got the better of me 🙂
Over the years I have had the diluted one and it tatses great, but it was missing that certain je nais se qua. 🙂
A trip down memory lane and I just had to taste it again. Ok enough of my stories, lets get started shall we 🙂
Duchess O Tip * I refrigerated the drinks prior to preparation. Do not refrigerate the bitters, grenadine lemon and lime
*to get more juice from the lemon and lime, simply roll it on the kitchen surface. This allows the skin to loosen up and allows for more juice to flow out
- 1 500 ml of fanta
- 1 500ml of Sprite/7up
- 1/4 cup of Ribena
- Juice of 1 Lime
- Juice of 1 Lemon
- 1 or 2 tbs of Angostura bitters or use Alomo bitters
- 1/8 cup of Grenadine syrup
- Extra slices of lemon and lime
Large jug or cocktail bowl
Prep time : 5 minutes
Depending on the amount of people you want to serve follow the following intentions:
Mix in the whole bottle of fanta, sprite.
Next add 1/4 cup of ribena, 1/8 of grenadine or more depending on how red you want it.
Followed by the juice from the lime and lemon
Then finally add the angostura bitters. I used about 2 tablespoons.
Mix it together very well and then add the sliced lemon and cucumber. Allow it to infuse for 10-20 minutes.
Its ready to be served.
Look at that. 🙂
Wouldn’t your guests be happy with you 🙂 hehehe
