Let me tell you about this chicken. Where do I even begin. Ok, let me just say it is delicious. No more no less.
Just in case you all don’t know, Let me update you all….. I love chicken. I will choose it over meat any day! I mean what’s not to love? Lol.
I have made plans to ensure that there will be lots of chicken recipes on my blog. This will help you choose what type of chicken you want to pair with any meal. It just makes life so much easier and I am here to help as much as I can.
Ok let’s get started 🙂
- 4 chicken legs (not feet)
- 1 teaspoon of Black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of Salt
- 1 1/2 tablespoon of Vegetable oil
- 1/8 cup of Soy sauce
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1/2 a teaspoon of fresh grated Ginger
- 2 tablespoons of Honey (adjust to preference)
- 1/4 cup of Water
- Frying pan
- Baking dish
Prep time: 15 minute
Cooking time: 45-55 minutes
Total time: 1hr-1hr:15 minutes
Clean the chicken (see the note below)
Please note: when cleaning the chicken, do not just clean it directly in your sink. Clean it In a bowl of water and discard the water later on:
How to discard: please pour the water in your drainage outside or in your loo. Please do not pour it down the sink. This is how salmonella spreads.
After 5 minutes,heat up the oil
once hot add the chicken. Sear it on both sides for 5 minutes each
After searing. Remove from the frying pan. (Set the frying pan aside for use later)
Place it in a baking dish and cook in the oven for 30 minutes.
Next add the water
Add the honey
And then finally add the soy sauce. Mix together and let it heat up
As it heats up, it will thicken a bit. That’s totally fine.
Remove the chicken from the oven.
And the pour the sauce all over it. Change the oven mark to grill. Allow it to grill for 10 minutes
After 10 minutes, it should look like the picture below.
If it doesn’t, grill it some more for like 3 minutes. Remember honey and soy sauce is in it, so be careful not to over grill or else it will burn.
That’s it you are done.
